Since closing our doors in November 2020 to complete a full refresh, we’ve been busy building a whole new Esplanade ready for Spring 2021 re-opening. As we head closer to opening back up our doors, we’re thrilled to be able bring you in on the plans and let you know what we have in store for when we can welcome you all back once again.

With the concept to create a four-star destination hotel for families and groups, The Esplanade Hotel is much more than just a place to sleep. Home to the Quiksilver Surf School Newquay, our space is a base for families and friends to gather, relax and spend quality time together on the Cornish coast.

So, what’s new?

We’ve reduced the number of bedrooms from 90 to 85 as a selection of our smaller rooms have been joined together to create larger spaces to sleep, accommodating larger family sizes. All rooms are undergoing a complete upgrade and each family room will be equipped with dressing gowns for the kids, as well as the grown-ups, and boast a selection of complimentary GAIA skincare and children’s toiletries to help lessen the load with packing.

A new and exciting vibrant food and beverage concept for all-day dining is on the horizon as we completely revamp Cove Restaurant, bringing the cooler blue and neutral tones of our coastal surroundings inside for a fresh new look. Each guest can enjoy a menu of location-influenced dishes, catering to all tastes, to enjoy whilst soaking up the stunning seascapes of the famous Fistral Beach morning, noon and night. Adjacent to Cove Restaurant will be an area where children of all ages can keep themselves amused at the soft play area, get competitive at the pool table and play on a selection of arcade games. From here, there will also be safe access to the outside play area so the grown-ups can peacefully dine and drink way whilst the little nippers soak up the fresh Cornish sea air with awesome outdoors adventures!

We’re taking on a new approach to dining as we’ll be offering a flexible dining package. Guests will be allocated a monetary amount for each day of their stay for food, meaning they can use this on lunch, light bites, afternoon tea, supper or dinner, depending on their individual plans and family members. With this new concept in place, dining becomes a lot easier as we know that not everyone is on the same schedule when it comes to eating, and we won’t be restricting guests with certain times to eat with our new all-day dining concept.

Our bar area will be a new space for grown-ups only after dark, serving a range of handpicked, sultry cocktails with live music playing over the weekends throughout the Summer months. The space will be home to newly fitted relaxed seating areas, mood lighting and modern decorative features. During the day, a selection of hot and soft drinks, cocktails, wines and spirits will be available for all to enjoy, complete with access to the outside decked seating area and multi-use sports court so the little ones can play carefree, whilst adults can relax and enjoy soaking up the Summer sun with a drink in hand.

The new 30-seat in-house cinema room is a place for those of all ages to sit back, relax and enjoy a classic movie. Complete with 7.1 surround sound, there will be four complimentary screenings each day playing a range of films for all to enjoy. If guests would rather take comfort of the cinema room without the sound of little voices as a distraction, guests can take advantage of our new babysitting service that allows parents to enjoy our facilities with ease. Our team of registered babysitters are on hand to allow grown up’s some free time whilst the children are safely tucked up in bed.
